An artistic look at the scenery from Trine 2, set to another soothing track from Ari Pulkkinen.
GamesCom is going on and you can actually play Trine 2 at the Xbox booths in Hall 8. Me and Ari Pulkkinen will be there also now that the business side is closing and most of our official meetings are done. If you can’t make it to GamesCom then the new trailer will keep you grounded for a bit. We wanted to make an EPIC! trailer with focus on co-op and think that it looks pretty nice. -Mikael
Very tiny little frozen pieces.. that is what goblins are going to be after you get the icy upgrades to the Knight’s shield and the Thief’s bow and arrow. First hit will slow them down, the second will freeze them into an ice cube and the third, well let’s just say that after the third hit we will need a top notch crime scene investigator to find out which goblin family to send condolences to. Also Amadeus can do something when the enemies are frozen. He can levitate the enemy and drop it or he can just drop a box […]
As Frozenbyte meets Notch, the only thing I could think about was that I wonder where Garry Newman is. But it was still awesome to see the person who did contribute the most to our charitable Humble Bundle. Also since it is Thursday, it means that E3 is over and we must say goodbye to the hectic halls filled candy to the senses. So this is over and out from LA and more next weekk from sunny Finland. P.S. the previous posts are now fixed and the pics work again. -Mikael
As I said in the previous post, I believe that Atlus has an incredible advertising campaign here at the E3. Lots of the other companies are putting insane amounts of money into ads all around the place, but Atlus decided that having one on every expo goers neck would do just fine. Also Trine 2 got nominated for the best graphics of E3 2011. Let’s see how that one pans out. ๐ -Mikael
This years E3 has started of with a bang. Not too huge of a bang according to some people, but lots of news worthy releases either way. Being somewhat partial to the work that Atlus does, I still have to mention that they had one of the best marketing stunts in the whole E3. Basically every person who had a ticket/badge, also had an Atlus ad hanging around their necks. I will try to get a photo of that tomorrow. Also their booth is in a very special area of the convention center called the “concourse hall”, where there are […]
So I just got my E3 passes from the LA convention center info and apparently there are two different kinds of passes. The “exhibit only” is your regular pass that you get to see the main areas with. I got one of those. Then there is also an “exhibitor” pass that you can use to get into virtually every corner of the center at any given time. I wouldn’t need one of those per se, but Atlus was kind enough to supply me with one of those also. So I took full advantage of my super pass and walked straight […]
Over the course of about 14 days, the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle raised just over $900,000. A big thank you to everyone for making this happen, especially since out of this sum over a third is going to the charities. Now we can return to our normal day schedule and sadly leave behind the 24 hour support chat, that started to become very dear to many of us. Next on our things-to-do list is to fix up all of the issues that came up during the HFB, get the Jack Claw community going and finish Splot. In other non-HFB news, Trine […]
The long awaited Humble Frozenbyte Bundle bonuses are here and on the top of the list is of course a cow, Daisy, from Splot. What this means is that all of the people who have bought the bundle can now access a playable sneak preview of Splot from their bundle downloads sites. This is still a work in progress and it is missing some cool combo features, but it should give a pretty good perception of what the game is going to be like. And this is not all, we also released more bonuses! – The source codes for […]
The clash of the titans that took place on the top contributors list in the HFB, has now been memorialized in this awe-tastic piece of art. This from the Wolfire artist, Aubrey Serr, also known as the guy who just created real competitor for the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Let’s see if this kind of epicness continues towards the end of the bundle (hint: small bonuses coming up).
Seems as if a winner has been found in our clash of the titans. Not only did @notch still beat Garry’s latest top list donation, but he also seems to be realizing that maybe an end must be reached at some point. Will the battle still continue? We shall see. Also to be seen is yet another week of Humble Frozenbyte Bundle and maybe this week we can get a little boost in activity by others than just these two top list friends. ๐ -Mikael
Looking at the top contributor list you might notice a few familiar names. Currently in the top three we have @notch who is Markus Persson from Minecraft fame and Garry Newman known for the Garry’s Mod. Now it seems as the top spot has been taken over by the competitively named “Now what, Garry?”, that we can only assume to be a friendly gesture to see which famed game industry superhero will be able to take control of the top of the contribution hill. ๐ This is very nice to see and further reminds us that we are in fact […]
