Ok, so yes more food pics from Frozenbyte. What a relief that it’s not real news, right? 🙂 This Friday we are having our annual “little xmas” party, or that’s what we call it here in Finland. A small office get-together before the holidays. On a more interesting note, next week we will have some “big news” to tell, so that will have to simmer over the weekend to find out what it could be. Happy holidays and ’till next week! -Mikael
(click to enlarge) In the near future we will be featuring a lot of renders and other art that make up the beautiful world of Trine 2. This segment will be called the “Art of Trine 2” and it will have a lot of the stuff that is not featured anywhere else. This particular piece is the “Mystery Machine”, a wondrous piece of mechanica that is placed somewhere in the depths of the world of Trine 2. Maybe we should try to find it some where in the game when it releases. Also if you missed it, here is a […]
Some Pontius clones were captured and frozen to be delivered to Jabba. They are a very limited edition piece that will only be available to most of the world through us giving them as prizes (Russian super duper edition has them in the box). The generous activity will be done through certain competitional activities, as long as the great Hutt lord approves. Be on the look out for Trine 2 related contests in the not so far future. -Mikael
Disc Golf discs featuring Zoya. These are just some of the examples of some bonus merchandise we will get out there eventually. Trine 2 will also get small Pontius figurines (still under construction) and hopefully t-shirts, posters, etc. If you want a chance to win some of these, let us know what kinds of competitions you might want. We have opened a new thread about this on the forums and already have a couple of ideas of our own. 🙂 -Mikael
Well this is a little awkward, four Pontius clones in a game that supports a maximum of three players in co-op. Of course there is a reason for all this, the Trine has a brother called Quatrine, who just wanted to show off by one upping his sibling. But all kidding aside, this is just an example of one of the few bugs that we have recently been fixing. Basically instead of the wizard, the knight starts off the tutorial levels, and eventually meets himself at the end. Pretty cool if you ask me …and on the topic of asking […]
Well apparently daily breakfast, lunch and snacks help. Of course a lot of other things are needed to create the ultimate happy developer, but food is a good start. Having a meal together brings our workers closer and let’s us talk about something other than work for a few moments. Today we had a Friday brunch feast that would have moved me into a low level coma, if I wouldn’t have had a cup of coffee afterwards. Also the fact that everyone isn’t rushing into some store around noon to get a pizza slice (vegetable) and a Dr. Pepper (agnostic […]
As of very recently Trine 2 has gone into “content lock”, meaning that no additional assets will be created for the game and that all that remains now is for the coders and testers to get that shiny coat of wax on and check the engine for any final tuning. This and also our front door lock is busted. I mean it works, but only in two extremes. It started with the door not really closing, so we had to pull it after us each time. Then we called a locksmith and now it makes a bang so loud that […]
Pontius the Knight. The royal ale provider of the kingdom. His humble abode is a serene farm with pumpkins so big that Cinderella could have had a yacht instead of a carriage. When Pontius is not off on his adventures, he takes pride in maintaining his tiny ranch in top condition and tends to his various livestock/lunch meats. After all, he has a certain armor size to maintain. This video is a little look at how the farm landscape was put together. -Mikael
In honor of the HiB#3 going on right now, I decided to write about the ups and downs of being a part of an indie games company. Notice that I said “being a part” instead of working for, this simply because I believe that most indie minded people see their work as a lifestyle and many actually might not get any compensation for long periods of time. Another thing that you will learn in an indie setting is the power of multitasking, yes the kind where you can eat you lunch while coding and talking on the phone, but mostly […]
