With the release of Trine 2 just about a month away and the beta already fully playable (to Steam pre-purchasers), we decided to gather up some of our dry humor and put together a small information pack in the form of a TV Shop commercial. I’m sure this ad won’t make it to any TV channels, but hopefully you get a chuckle out of it and maybe even like it. 🙂 -Mikael
Yes, it is true. Not only is Trine 2 finally available in the Steam store for pre-order, but if you buy now you also get access to the beta. So basically the tutorial stages and the first stage, complete with online multiplayer goodness available right now. Nice. We here at Frozenbyte will also be joining in for online sessions in the coming weeks and will let you guys now about that on our twitter account. So be sure to follow us there also if you want in on the action with the developers. -Mikael
When you start up Trine 2 on PC (and Mac), we are making sure that all of the possible controllers out there are configured correctly. So far we have bought, tested and binded button configs for about 15 different pads and expect the number to grow to about 20, thus hopefully we can cover about 90% of the options out there. Keyboard and mouse support will still be available and better than ever, but if you want to play 3 player local co-op, I think using additional controllers might be the way to go. That is unless you and your […]
In this video we introduce a new game mode that will be available in the upcoming Trine 2. Unlimited mode allows you and your friends use any variation of the three heroes that you might want. So change characters as much as you want and finally get to play with three wizards and make a ton of boxes. 🙂 Also we would like to remind you that you can still purchase the current HumbleBundle and get a lot of cool Frozenbyte games for any amount of money, helping out us but also nice charities. As a bonus for getting so […]
The Bundle is back and better than ever. Although I’m sure many of you have already picked up the Frozenbyte bundle, this is a good chance for those who missed it. Plus Frozen Synapse looks like an awesome game too and I’m sure to test it as soon as I get some time from this live customer support (btw we will be online a lot this week if you guys wanna chat). To make this bundle a bit more interesting, I have made bets that this bundle will perform better that HFB and I actually won the first bet at […]
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting a different outcome. So what do you call it when you do a whole bunch of different things to get the same outcome? Sanity? Maybe it doesn’t work exactly like that, but one thing that I am sure about is that in Trine 2 you can find almost an endless array of solutions to even the simplest looking puzzles. I constantly hear tales of how new people come up with weird ways to solve particular puzzles. Ways that we never really even thought about, but seem […]
As of very recently Trine 2 has gone into “content lock”, meaning that no additional assets will be created for the game and that all that remains now is for the coders and testers to get that shiny coat of wax on and check the engine for any final tuning. This and also our front door lock is busted. I mean it works, but only in two extremes. It started with the door not really closing, so we had to pull it after us each time. Then we called a locksmith and now it makes a bang so loud that […]
Frozenbyte Ltd. and Focus Home Interactive have joined forces to publish the PC/Mac retail versions in the European Union. The release date for now is Q4, with more specific dates to follow soon. There will be a normal and a premium pack, the premium will include at least the OST made by Ari Pulkkinen and likely other goodies also. More info on the Focus website. The console side is published worldwide by Atlus and Frozenbyte is self publishing Steam and various other digital channels. -Mikael
GC11 was last week in Cologne, Germany, and it was huge. I mean lots of people, approximately 275k for the whole duration. Me and Ari Pulkkinen were there and spend most of our time at the business side in meetings, but then on Friday the business side closed and we had to venture out to the show floors. The first 2 pics here show a little bit of what kind of crowds we encountered. After making it through the sea of people we finally got to the Microsoft booths were Trine 2 was being demoed. As you can see from […]
