✨ Day 14 ✨
Let’s be real – one of the best things about the holiday season is the food. Today, we’d like to introduce some traditional Finnish Christmas food for you!
One of the most common food during the holidays is baked ham. The ham is slowly baked in the oven and is usually the main dish of the dinner. If you don’t eat meat, you can replace pork with seitan, for example!
Fish is also a very common sight on the dinner table. Salted and smoked salmon and herring are something that people often have on the side. If you don’t eat fish, you can replace salmon with carrots. It might sound strange, but here’s a great recipe for that!
Let’s not forget the famous vegetable casseroles! Whether you use carrots, rutabagas or potatoes, the casserole will surely taste amazing.
Some other things you might have on the side are beetroot salad, gherkin and peas. They will nicely balance the whole meal and surely add some colour to your plate or food too!
What kind of food do you have during the holidays? Leave a comment below, we’d love to know 🙂
