A new feature video from Starbase has been released. This week’s video is an introduction to the world of YOLOL.
YOLOL is Starbase’s very own programming language, which is at the core of what enables Starbase’s creativity. It is what is used to control and manage the vast variety of Starbase’s different devices, such as doors, lamps, elevators, rail movers, robot arms, tractor beams, even spaceships and factories and anything else you can imagine.
This video will provide you the basics that will help you get started with YOLOL when the time comes.

This game is the best
SO MUCH HYPE
Is there a specific reason for using an in-house programming language over an existing embedded language such as Lua?
We feel it fits the game’s world. We just wanted to keep the in-game programming as a simple and fun extra feature that adds a little more detail to ship and station building for those players who are into it, but we didn’t want to make it overly complicated. YOLOL is not meant to be a “real” programming language so it’s not designed with efficiency in mind and it does not have all the functionalities a real programming language has.
do you have a proper relece date yet
Not yet, but we’re really aiming to go into Early Access during 2019! 🙂
Looks a lot like Dos. Especially with the if then goto commands. Was the 1st language I learned back in the 80’s and man was it clunky! But it is easy to learn so I like that.
