Year ago we announced a game that was from a different genre than anything we had developed before: Shadwen, a stealth-action game. We can’t believe it’s already been a year, time really flies! Or, actually, in Shadwen it doesn’t, as there is this neat time-stopping mechanism. ๐ What it comes to sneaking, Shadwen is as good as Santa’s elves. Although I don’t think that many people would want her peeking in through the window as elves do.
Here’s some screenshots from the game.
What is your favorite game genre? There is so many to choose from!

Ah, I would like to play Shadwen, because I love stealth games! Okay, my favorite game genres are strategy and platform games (I actually don’t care about game genres, I just want to play great games).
Hey, it’s great that you guys are doing the Christmas event this year again! I haven’t had the chance to play Shadwen yet, so I hope my lucky star is watching today ๐
Good luck to all and Merry Christmas Frozenbyte. ๐
Nowadays it’s got to be RPG.
It used to be adventure, you know, the point ‘n click -kind (I still rank the classic Monkey Island games in my Top 5), but for some reason the genre has lost some of its shine for me, whereas RPG has stayed pretty strong over the years.
Could be the every day stress that’s getting to me – if the game is too slow, I get agitated, so it’s easier to play stuff where you get to hit things periodically. Or maybe I’m just getting too old and cranky :/
Still, anything with a good story usually grips me and I can forgive a lot in gameplay flaws if the overall story and characters are good.
Shadwen looks really awesome, thanks!
I love Christmas events like these, and winning Shadwen would be great. Frozenbyte rules!
2D Platformers will always be my favorite genre, I love when they jump into new areas like INSIDE did this year. I also love Stealth, being a fan of the Metal Gear series. So I’m curious how I’ll like Shadwen. Thanks for the Christmas Calendar event! ๐
I think my favorite genre is RPG. I just love the sense of progression in those games, this “from zero to hero” feeling. When I’m not playing RPGs I also like fighting games, especially the japanese ones, with hyper speed action and flashing super combos ๐
Thanks to Frozenbyte team for this great event.
RPG and adventure games are my favorites, they could be linked in a same category. I think Shadwen would also be one I enjoy ๐
It used to be action/action adventure.
Then Trine happened… so action puzzle platformer!
As much as I like horror games, I can’t play them for too long, especially at night, my heart wouldn’t be strong enough ๐
I like games that do things different from the ones experienced before.
I love action platformers, I played a lot of them on consoles and the more puzzles there are to solve, the better.
It certainly looks like an interesting game.
never heard of this game, but i would give it a try, looks cool so far..
Thanks Frozenbyte for the event. This game is in my wishlist! Hope I can win a key!
I want this game soo bad! I hope Ill win ๐
Thanks for the chance Frozenbyte ๐
Impressive screenshots. The environment looks great, also I often prefer a less dark mood. Therefore my favourite genres are action, puzzle and strategy. However, in the end I play games that fascinate me.
My favorite games are the ones with a lot of replayability. And the genre, well, I am very fond of open ended games which simulate life and reward experience and discovery, in which you can play unlimited adventures as long as you want, and multiplayer, interacting with others wordlwide is always more fun. Could Frozenbyte, these people with so much inventivity, create the game of my dreams? ๐
Thanks for the chance!
