Due fan demand and inter-office interest, this is an announcement for the official Trine 2 Speedrun competition!
We have not made Trine 2 with speedrunning in mind, simply because it is a game you want to take slow sometimes, but there is always someone interested in completing levels with haste.
The video above is a good example of how a Trine 2 speedrun can be done.
So to enter the competition all you have to do is to make a similar video and post about it in the link below.

As prizes, we will be sending out autographed retail copies (PC/Mac) of Trine 2 and an autographed “Zoya” discgolf frisbee to all who make it to the top 3 in any level.
Just to be clear, that is one prize pack per person, but everyone who makes the top 3 will get one.
The deadline for putting up a video on youtube is 28th of April 2012 and we will contact all winners the following week.
That’s about it, happy running to each and everyone!

Awesome! I love doing speed runs in Trine and Trine 2.
Question: If the same three people are the top three players for every level (as it seems to be at the moment), will the people below them receive prizes, or will a total of three prizes be given out?
Also, is co-op allowed?
Co-op is all good as far as I’m concerned but maybe you should double check on the speedrun forums. Plus I don’t think it will really help with your speed overall.
We want to encourage you to make better times than the ones on there right now, so we are only giving prizes to people who make it to the top 3.
Right now there are still some spots with no times so it’s really easy to get a prize. 🙂
Thanks for the clarification.
I agree that co-op isn’t likely to give (m)any worthwhile speed increases. I was just curious ^_^
Are recipients going to be announced on the blog?
