Trine 2, Goblin Menace Linux Version ?

Postby titi » Sun Feb 10, 2013 2:16 am (link to this post)

My family loved to play the linux version of Trine and Trine2 .
Is there any chance that we will see "Goblin Menace" for Linux? ( and when ? )

It is ?? But Why is the Goblin Menace Version not marked as a Linux game?
It has no Linux symbol and is not listed in this list: http://store.steampowered.com/browse/linux

CAn someone official establish that there is a Linux version ( and maybe fix the issue on steam that its not marked as Linux game ? )?

Later i will try to post screenshot from linux version of trine 2 and you will see. Game is available on linux, if you are planning to buy it best decision would be to buy it from frozenbyte's site, if you will buy it this way you will get key for steam and desura and drm-free version. Personally i bought the game this way and have it all. Steam version is working fine. If you do not trust to steam information about game you will be able to try desura version with which you can be sure it has linux version of game.

It should be out but for some reason the Steam page isn't showing the Linux version but i'll look into it.
In the meantime i would suggest doing what spectatorx said if you are uncertain.

When i get more information i'll add it to this thread.

Thanks !

One last question: if I buy Goblin Menace from your website via humble-store, will I get a steam free version of the game once it will be released ?

If you mean drm-free version so answer is "yes, when it will be released". But if i'm not wrong for now available is only steam version of goblin menace for linux.

Sorry for little disinformation, by buying game Trine 2 you get all versions: desura, steam, drm-free for mac and linux but in case of goblin menace i did get only steam version and i'm able to play it on linux and windows.

Well, I bought the Goblin Menace DLC on Steam, but it doesn't show up. Purchase history says, I have it, but I can't download it. "View Downloadable Content" says: there is none. How do I get to the DLC? I bought it, because some in this thread said, it works in Linux, but that's not true in my case.

If you have Trine 2 downloaded so you already have it downloaded.
Start Trine 2, start new game and choose Goblin Menace.

Unfortunately, taking an old game an publishing it on Steam doesn't happen automatically. Trine 2 is actually the first game we ported to Linux ourself, so adding Steam functionality wasn't too hard. It is unlikely we will make Steam Linux versions for older games.

Trine 2 demo sure, and Goblin Menace store page should be fixed :) .
