I am just about to attempt the tower of Sarek on my first playthrough of Trine and just wanted to say thank you for a great experience. I have been very pleasantly surprised by how much I've enjoyed Trine. However there are 2 issues which made the game almost unplayable on the penultimate level (Iron Forge) on the PS3 version.
The first issue I came up against which hadn't been noticeable in any of the previous levels was huge slowdown. This wasn't experienced graphically that much but was extremely noticeable in the controls. I often went to make jumps in hard platforming sections and the input wouldn't register. In sections which required multiple jumps in quick succession this resulted in many lava deaths until I could finally string together some lucky jumps. This was also evident with grappling with the thief. This isn't an issue with my system or controller (I tried multiple controllers and my system runs more intensive games without a hitch).
The other issue is with drawing the triangle with the wizard. Even when I draw a perfect triangle it often results in the formation of a box. It take take me up to 5-10 attempts of drawing exactly the same triangle shape before one appears. Either there is an easier way of getting them to form or there is an issue with the PS3 input of the triangle shape.
If these issues continue on the final level (which I've heard mixed responses about!) then it could dampen the otherwise enjoyable experience that has led up to this point. Again, many thanks for a great game, I just hope that not every PS3 owner has met with these issues.
