PS3 release date?

Trine is Frozenbyte's latest game, released in 2009 for PC and on PSN.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't bet on this Thursday either for US release.

But I can tell we are already working on our next title(s) :)

That's really very disappointing. In the end, I hoped that it would be soon, but I guess we should have realized by now that it won't be.

Welp, thanks for the effort Frozenbyte.

Bad news for any small dev is a game delayed into the holiday season. I hope Trine doesn't get lost in the shuffle of new games. With big titles coming in Oct and beyond, people may skip Trine. I bet SCEA intentionally held Trine back so games like Interpol and Switchball wouldn't be adversely impacted by sales. I'm still buying Trine because it looks amazing but hopefully this will come out by Oct 1 at the latest.

Have sales been good enough to guarantee another title? That's great if so.

It's more like that Trine is our 3rd published title which means we are beginning to to be somehow "established" developer, which usually helps with continuing on business (and so far success of Trine, at least as being rather ok quality, doesn't hurt either :D )

@buzzyon

You think that's bad. Europeans almost always get their games later than the states. Australia gets their releases after Europe! On the bright side, the first DLC for Fallout 3, Broken Steel, will be available on PSN this week. That's how I'm passing the time until Trine is available.

Ah, okay, thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just keep my eyes open for it... I'm sure I'll get it eventually but if it releases too close to Uncharted 2 I might wait a little bit... no offense, I just know that game is gonna keep me pretty occupied. Out of curiosity though, if you've began work on the next game, is this indicative that there won't be online multiplayer and level editing patches coming our way, or is there plans to split out the work load to keep both balls rolling?

We are working on a patch also, but I can't make any promises what will be included and in what timeframe.

Cool! Once you release the next title, can we get Trine in the US? :(

I don't know for sure, but I know it's not this week. I'm really sorry, but it's also not in our hands now.

It won't get released this week as well? Dang...
I'll buy this game this week by buying an EU PSN card. Tired of waiting.

I'm buying Trine no matter when it gets released but honestly, is Sony trying to sabotage this game by releasing it so close to the 13th or what?

Thanks for the support.

The NA launch is totally out of our hands, so I don't really know anything about the NA launch, except that it's going to happen eventually :D

Honestly, I find it pretty ludicrous that the Developer itself doesn't know when their own game might come out.

You guys ever think about calling Sony and simply asking for an ETA to give to your consumers? I have a friend who works for Sony and she cannot tell me when a PSN game will come out, but she mentioned there are set "scheduled" releases by month set around all other major game releases (common knowledge really). Obviously we won't see Trine around Brutal Legend, Dragon Age, Borderlands, Modern Warfare 2, etc., and the more it's pushed back, the more the release slips into the future.

Do you guys do anything other than "wait-and-see"? Surely as the producer you have some rights to ask as to when the publisher plans to release your game! You aren't getting profits while the game sits on the shelves! Do not let Trine -> Sony = Brutal Legend -> Activision ! You have a contract with them and the least you can do is you know...call.

Lauri,

You obviously are in contact with Sony or your publisher since you are sharing with us that it won't be released this week. Can't that same "source" give you feedback, reason, news, or enlightenment on what is causing the delay, or when we actually might see it?

Information is all we're asking for.

Thanks.

Should we still talk about a 2009 release?
Seems more rational something like Feb 2010.
