Last year, I told you something about Frozenbyte’s company story we’re working on.
A lot has been going on since then: Trine 2 came out, and last week we finally moved into a new office!
The company story is still a work in progress as well but I’d like to share another piece of it.
This is one of my favourite parts – it’s almost absurd that 13 years after the ordinary school day depicted in the text below, Frozenbyte has made four games and is employing over 40 professionals.
So here comes…
The very beginning
It was a recess in Käpylä high school, Helsinki, in the springtime of 1999.
The sun was shining into the hallway along which the classrooms located. A 17-year-old young man named Juha was sitting on the floor, typing his Texas Instruments 85 calculator. His schoolmate Lauri, who was also 17 years old, walked through the hallway and casually asked:
”Would you be interested in making games?”
A little confused, Juha looked at Lauri.
”Yes,” he answered.
To be continued…

You could’ve just said once upon a time
to be continued
still be interesting -.-’
