The Art of Trine 2: The Mammoth Skeleton

January 18, 2012 by Mikael | Category: Art, Trine 2

There are few things you except to find in an icy tundra: snow, ice, some more snow and a large frozen mammoth skeleton!

As I have mentioned earlier, Trine 2 is filled with creatures wondrous and unique, some just little more dead than the others.

The Mammoth is one of those. Its structure is based on a real animal, the skeletal construct similar or identical to its once existing cousin.

For more information, check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammoth

In game the skeleton is used as a decorative background, not really interacting with the heroes but certainly creating some ‘frosty’ atmosphere.

Next time you pass by this mighty fellow, slow down and pay a few moments of respect. It gave its life to be used in Trine 2! :)

Talk about devotion…

  1. ..wikipedia link of course down for the while being, but do use this as an opportunity to learn about the SOPA/PIPA conversation.

  2. Even (skeleton) mammoths are against SOPA/PIPA.

  3. Did you know that Woolly Mammoths love playing games on Linux also? It’s true… please do bring Trine 2 to Linux so the above majestic creature’s digital life was not given in vain!!

(Ok, I freely admit that made no sense at all… but the implication was clear, I’m certain)
