  1. Making of Trine 2: Playable Start Screen

November 29th, 2011 by Mikael | Category: Making Of, Trine 2

We wanted something special with the start up screen in Trine 2, so we made it playable.

Nice right? Well it also changes depending on when you play the game. Night scene at wee hours and day during school and work.

So check out the video about how it was created and try it out in the game.

Bonecrusher is the newest addition to the Trine 2 enemy repertoire and was recently introduced in the new GamesCom Co-op trailer.

In this video we show you how this gnarly beast was made, all the way from the concept art to something that you might not want to meet in a dark alley.

  3. Making of Trine 2: Level Art Part III

August 26th, 2011 by Mikael | Category: Making Of, Trine 2

This Level Art video is from the tutorial levels and more specifically the one that introduces our female lead, Zoya the thief.

It’s a night level so the end product is fairly dark, but in the game this shady town looks pretty incredible.

  4. Making of Trine 2: Level Art Part II

August 10th, 2011 by Mikael | Category: Making Of, Trine 2

Pontius the Knight. The royal ale provider of the kingdom. His humble abode is a serene farm with pumpkins so big that Cinderella could have had a yacht instead of a carriage.

When Pontius is not off on his adventures, he takes pride in maintaining his tiny ranch in top condition and tends to his various livestock/lunch meats. After all, he has a certain armor size to maintain.

This video is a little look at how the farm landscape was put together.

Ever wonder how much details are put into Trine? Well we are putting even more into the sequel.

Here is a little look at how much details there actually are and also a little insight into why we are taking longer to finish the game.

Perfection is not really possible but we try to be marginally close. :)

What is a shield for? Blocking right? Well not just for that anymore.

In this video we look at a bunch of different ways to use the shield in Trine 2 ..and there might be a few extra ways that we can’t even mention yet.

  7. Making of Trine 2: Levitating Enemies

July 13th, 2011 by Mikael | Category: Making Of, Trine 2

This round in the “Making Of” series we are looking at a new skill that Amadeus will have in the sequel.

Throw Goblins into spikes to kill ‘em or chuck the carcasses around just for fun after, just because it looks cool.

Either way, our Wizard is going to be able to help out a bit more now with this skill.

  8. Making of Trine 2: Exploding Boxes

June 22nd, 2011 by Mikael | Category: Making Of, Trine 2

All games have glitches and bugs. Good ones have very few of them, but it is impossible to go without any. Sometimes bugs are accepted as a part of the game, thus becoming features and some even work as a point of inspiration for something totally new and exciting.

In this video we take a look at a small glitch where boxes are dropped at a rate that is a bit too fast, so they end up making a very cool looking explosion.

This will be fixed for the final game of course, but somethings just need to be shown, even if they don’t become a part of the game. ;)

And yet again leave your suggestions in the comments section, so we know where to go next. :)
