Company website totally reworked, new community features
Helsinki, Finland - 13 May 2008 - Finnish game developer Frozenbyte, whose earlier games include Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds Survivor, is thrilled to announce that it has decided to focus on creating games based on original IP. Frozenbyte has expanded its development team and has three projects in development, all based on new original IP.
“Our decision to focus on games based on original IP gives the company a clear direction into the future. Whether it’s a project of our own or a partnership project, our expertise in envisioning, developing and launching new IPs helps enormously. We feel that we’ve got that special creative spark that’s needed for great, original games,” said Frozenbyte CEO, Lauri Hyvarinen and continued: “We’re letting our creativity run wild and the results are amazing. Two new projects will be unveiled shortly and that’s just the beginning - you can expect big things from us in the future!”
Frozenbyte has also redesigned its company website, located at http://www.frozenbyte.com/ . Among new features are the Frozenbyte Blog that gives gamers a glimpse behind the scenes, and the upgraded Community forums where fans can interact with the developers directly. Frozenbyte aims to continue to support all its current and future games.
Frozenbyte’s latest game, highly praised Shadowgrounds Survivor for the PC, is currently available at retail outlets in North America and in some European territories, and worldwide in online distribution channels such as Steam, Direct2Drive, GamersGate and TotalGaming.net for $19.99. The game is rated M for Mature in North America and PEGI 16+ in current European territories.

Good luck with the new games , will be looking
forward to see the PC playable demo & info about them .
I just recently (May 2008) bought a Retail Disc
copy of Shadowgrounds PC (Windows).
So far I am enjoying the game ,
I was disapointed that it didn’t have LAN coop.
I will look into the expansion if I can source
the retail disc boxed copy for AU$10-$20.
May I suggest that the new games support :
- Two to 4 keyboards/mouse with same PC screen coop mode
- LAN MULTI PLAYER Network coop mode (4 to 16 players)
- Opengl instead of DirectX if possible
(using opengl allows making Linux/Mac editions easier)
- Linux , Mac and Windows editions of the game
- If supporting online mode then please release
an seperate SADS program (stand alone dedicated server)
- If supporting online mode please have a working server
browser that can limit viewing games by PING (eg 0 to 50,
51 to 150 )
- If supporting a free SADS program please allow for
hosting a game with the ability to block high ping players
(eg if ping is higher then 100 they cant join)
Having a free sads helps with clan gamers ,
hosting games at lan parties and
for ISP’s that host online low ping game servers.
It will be interesting what gene of game the new
3 ip’s will be .
Personaly the PC still has some genes that need to get
addressed such as:
Fighting games (eg Tekken type ones) on Win/Mac/Linux
with LAN Multiplayer coop and same screen gaming
An aracade fun racing game (SP/SP+same screen/coop/LAN)
(Flatout 2 & LA Street Racer is a great fun game that in my view beats NFS)
An fun proper tatical FPS game that does not support
joystick or joypad (no joypad leads to better gameplay)
with (SP/SP+same screen using Multi k&m coop/coop LAN)
Theirs a market in the proper tatical FPS gene
since R6 and GR series have gone down the tube
since they ported it to console and reduced gameplay
to sell out to the casual gamer crowd.

I’m looking forward to hearing about these new IPs you’ve all been working on.
